This project represents a masterclass in designing within complex environmental and regulatory boundaries. Situated on a challenging corner lot, the site was encumbered by steep slopes, critical area designations, and strict water well setbacks.
To maximize the buildable footprint without compromising existing infrastructure, we moved away from traditional "square" geometry. The rear of the addition features a custom angled facade, specifically designed to respect well setbacks while utilizing every available inch of the site. By securing a variance through the demonstration of site specific hardships, we transformed a "unbuildable" set of constraints into a striking, custom architectural solution.
“We are forever grateful for Matt and all that he done for us in creating our amazing new house.”
We were continually impressed by his professionalism, attention to detail, care, and the support he provided us during our major house remodel and renovation. Matt gave us multiple designs and his way of putting things together was so amazing. Then, him putting our final design together that was out of the ordinary was just mind blowing. Matt put so much thought and consideration for us in his work. He thought of all the elements to make our house just awesome. For example, the way the sun rises so our kitchen will get that beautiful morning light. Or adding an extra hallway so the kids have the space to run around. He truly thought of all the things to make our house function for our family, yet have a vision to make it absolutely stunning. We cannot thank Matt enough for everything he did to make our house a beautiful home.
